Meet Dr. Berdy

Gregg J. Berdy , M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Ophthalmology Associates, serving patients in the St. Louis area. Dr. Berdy specializes in cornea and external disease, and ocular allergy.

Dr. Berdy has provided ophthalmology services in St. Louis for over 30 years. Despite a busy clinical practice, Dr. Berdy has also continued to participate in clinical research protocols. He served as a principal investigator for at least fifty FDA trials, principal or co-author of twenty-five publications in ophthalmic literature, and has authored four chapters in ophthalmic textbooks.

Dr. Berdy has served both as President and a member of the Board of Directors for the Missouri Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He was elected as a Fellow into the American College of Surgeons and has participated as an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Berdy has been actively involved in cornea and eye banking, serving as the Director of the St. Louis Division of the Heartland Eye Banks (Missouri Lions Eye Bank) and has been selected to the Board of Directors of the Heartland Eye Banks Review Board.

Dr. Berdy has continued to participate in clinical research protocols for new pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of dry eye, allergic conjunctivitis, anterior uveitis and glaucoma. He has served as a principal investigator for at least fifty FDA trials. Additionally, he participated as an investigator in the initial FDA clinical study to evaluate the VISX excimer laser as a tool for correcting myopia and he continues to conduct research protocols for refractive surgery.
