Adam R. Fedyk, M.D.
Adam Ross Fedyk is an ophthalmic surgeon specializing in refractive surgery, cataract and lens implant surgery, and corneal procedures.
Dr. Fedyk was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He has two younger siblings, Ryan Fedyk and Amanda Fedyk. He attended Pattonville High School in St. Louis. His college years were spent at the University of Missouri where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, which was conferred magna cum laude. It was early in college that Dr. Fedyk began his commitment to research, being awarded the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Internship. From there he attended the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri, where he graduated with honors. While in medical school, Dr. Fedyk started to realize his strong interest in ophthalmology, and began working for the Heartland Lions Eye Bank in Columbia, Missouri, as a cornea procurer for transplants.
Dr. Fedyk followed his medical school years with a transitional year internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. For this year he was elected Chief Resident of his residency class. He then began his postgraduate training in ophthalmology with a residency at University of Texas-Southwestern, where he worked and trained at the prestigious Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Fedyk was also VISX excimer laser certified for laser refractive surgery during this time. Following his residency, Dr. Fedyk completed a year-long Cornea and External Disease Fellowship at the Mason Eye Center of the University of Missouri. He is now board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Fedyk returned to St. Louis following his fellowship and joined Ophthalmology Associates. Since he has returned he has also joined the faculty at Washington University, where he serves as attending physician in the resident surgeries. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has presented research on emerging multifocal intraocular lens technology and refractive measurement techniques at national meetings for the American Society for Cataract & Refractive Surgery and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. In addition, Dr. Fedyk is an investigator for many FDA trials for medications used in the treatment of glaucoma, dry eye, conjunctivitis, allergy, and bacterial/viral infections. He also currently serves as the regional representative for the Missouri Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Since returning to St. Louis, Dr. Fedyk has been active in the local alumni chapter for the University of Missouri. He is an avid Missouri Tigers and Cardinals fan. Dr. Fedyk is proud to have a wonderful son, Gregory, who is now 5 years old, and a great source of pride and pleasure.
